When you bring electronics to an authorized Recycle My Electronics drop-off location in Halifax they go through a number of steps during the recycling process. Once collected and sorted, items are sent to an EPRA-approved recycling facility for dismantling and the removal of any substances of concern for proper downstream management. About Divert NS. Divert NS* is a not-for-profit corporation that helps drive the culture of recycling in Nova Scotia. We operate two recycling programs: the Beverage Container Deposit-Refund Program and the Used Tire Management Program. EPRA-approved drop-off locations, or EPRA Service Providers, are obliged and adhere to rigorous environmental and worker health and safety standards. EPRA Service Providers may be a municipal or retail/non-profit permanent site. Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection is administered by municipalities. HHW is waste material generated from our homes that poses a risk to health, safety, or the environment. The household special waste (HSW) drop-off depot accepts chemical waste generated in your home. Businesses must contact a private hazardous materials handling company for disposal.
